This cake is all we want for a lemon dump cake. Citrusy, fresh, and with cream cheese, it’s so yum! And you know what else is great about this recipe? Well, all you need are four simple and easy to find ingredients; lemon pie filling, cake mix, cream cheese, and unsalted butter. Crazy, right? And the result will surprise you! While it is only a four-ingredient cake, there is some sophistication by the way it is put together. Spread first the lemon pie filling at the bottom of the dish, followed by topping it out with the cake mix, then a layer of cream cheese, and finally sprinkle the remaining cake mix over. Easy peasy! This moist cake is sweet, tangy, and ridiculously good!
1 (16 oz.) can lemon pie filling
1 (15 oz.) package yellow cake mix
4 oz. cream cheese, cubed
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, thinly sliced
How to make 4-Ingredient Lemon Cream Cheese Dump Cake
Step 1: Ready the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Grease lightly with butter or non-stick spray a square baking dish.
Step 2: At the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pour the lemon pie filling and make sure that the filling spread into the corners of the dish.
Step 3: Top the filling with half of the cake mix.
Step 4: Evenly put the cream cheese over the cake mix and sprinkle the rest of the cake mix on top.
Step 5: Slice the butter pats as thinly as possible and put them on top of the cake mix in a single layer and try to cover as much surface of the cake as you can.
Step 6: Place the dish inside the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Step 7: Once done, remove the dish from the oven and let the cake cool for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
