5 minutes easy egg fried rice

This is a no-brainer dish, pretty straightforward, and one of the easiest and quickest recipes you’ll ever make! A 5-minute Egg Fried Rice that anyone can throw together any day in a breeze using just cold rice, eggs, soy sauce, and onions. This is perfect to serve with any side dishes/sauces, even as the main dish.

Easily modify this recipe by adding extra veggies or protein to make this the perfect meal. I love to add shrimp, chicken, pork, and ground beef to this egg-fried rice. You can even add in some crab if desired. To make it more savoury, feel free to add extra soy sauce or a drizzle of sriracha for some kick.

INGREDIENTS

4 c. cold jasmine rice
4 Eggs, beaten with a pinch of salt
3 tablespoons cooking oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
4 green onions, sliced
pinch of salt

How to make 5 minutes easy egg fried rice

Step 1: Preheat a skillet or wok over high heat. Once hot, add a tbsp cooking oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the wok or skillet. Now, Pour the beaten eggs and scramble.

Step 2: Add the rest of the 2 tbsp cooking oil to the wok or skillet once the eggs are cooked about 3/4 way along with the cold jasmine rice. Break the rice down, then mix it with the eggs.

Step 3: Around the edge of the wok, pour in the soy sauce so it’ll slightly burn for that smoky umami flavour. Season with salt according to taste and stir. If you need to, adjust the heat to low.

Step 4: Turn the heat off, then immediately stir in the green onions.

Step 5: Serve the Egg Fried Rice garnished with some sesame seeds with your favourite side dishes. Enjoy!

NOTES:

To make this egg-fried rice your main dish, add 2 tbsp soy sauce.
