I love this banana bread recipe. It’s the best banana bread recipe I’ve tried. Moist, incredibly delicious, and filling. Perfect for breakfast, afternoon snacks, or even dessert. Enjoy a slice or two with your favorite cup of coffee to jump-start your mornings. You can also spread butter on a warm slice of banana bread – my kids do, and they love every bit of it!
INGREDIENTS
1 stick butter (softened)
3 large ripened bananas (peeled)
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
1/4 c. crushed pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 pinch of salt
How to Make the Best Banana Bread
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Place 1 stick of butter in a large microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for about 25 to 35 seconds.
Step 3: Into the bowl with the softened butter, add the ripened bananas, and mash using a fork. Next, add the rest of the ingredients (1 egg, 1 egg white, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 pinch of salt, 3/4 c sugar, and 1 1/2 c of flour) and mix well using a large spoon. Then, fold in the nuts and/or chocolate chips (optional).
Step 4: Using a nonstick cooking spray, grease a loaf pan. Empty the contents of the bowl into the greased pan. Bake the batter in the preheated oven for about 45 to 50 minutes until done.
NOTES:
1. I have tried baking this banana bread in a gas and electric oven. If using gas, baking time is about 45 minutes and around 50 minutes for an electric oven.
2. Serve this banana bread for breakfast, afternoon snack, or even dessert. This pairs perfectly with coffee in the morning.
3. If desired, you can spread butter on a warm slice of banana bread.
