AMBROSIA/MARSHMALLOW FRUIT SALAD

by 247tasty

Silky sweet with plenty of colorful, juicy fruits. This salad is another southern classic that is loved and pleases the crowd.

A pretty simple salad with a variety of fruits and plenty of mini marshmallows. This has been a staple for ages. My family’s favorite side dish during Thanksgiving or Christmas. Undeniably an extremely easy and quick salad to make. You can whip it up in less than 10 minutes! The trick is to chill this overnight for the flavors to settle. Ambrosia means “food for the gods” and this salad speaks for itself. Creamy, refreshing, sweet, and scrumptious! You can even fold in coconut and walnuts if desired.

Growing up, this was my favorite salad. I am amazed by how colorful this salad is and of course kids love marshmallows. This salad was the best part of Thanksgiving or Christmas for me. Now that I am older and have a family of my own, I make sure to never forget my family’s tradition. My love for this Ambrosia/marshmallow salad stays until forever! I serve this only during Thanksgiving or Christmas following my family’s custom but I am tempted every single day to make this bowl of colorful fruits and sweet marshmallows. I might one day since my kids are always making excuses for me to prepare this even on regular days.

1/2 cup sour cream
8 oz. cool whip
