Hot dog and bacon are two of my favourite combination. And these bacon-wrapped DOUBLE dogs are heaven! Grill or pan-fried with your go-to add-ons, these bad boys surely will fill you up for the rest of the day. Always the star of our Saturday bbq alongside potato salad, mashed potatoes, or grilled veggies with a bottle of ice-cold beer. Not fussy, pretty straightforward, and genuinely delicious!
Ingredients
4 (2 ounces) hot dogs
4 slices cold centre-cut, thinly sliced bacon
2 roll (blank)s large hot dog buns
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, or to taste
2 tablespoons dill pickle relish, or to taste
2 teaspoons diced red onion, or to taste
2 tablespoons diced tomato, or to taste
HOW TO MAKE BACON-WRAPPED DOUBLE DOGS
Step 1: Wrap the hot dog in bacon and horizontally roll it once.
Step 2: Under the first bacon-wrapped hot dog, add another hot dog and roll it twice in bacon. Tuck the hot dogs to secure both ends. Do this for the remaining ingredients.
Step 3: Cook the bacon-wrapped hot dogs in a non-stick pan over medium heat for about 10 minutes on each side.
Step 4: Once done, take them out of the heat.
Step 5: Meanwhile, spread a tbsp of mustard on the buns. Add the cooked bacon-wrapped hot dogs in the centre, followed by red onion, dill pickle relish, and tomato.
Notes:
1. Wrap the hot dogs in more bacon if desired and cook it longer than 10 minutes.
2. Grill bacon-wrapped hot dogs work fine, too.
3. Use large buns to hold all the ingredients.
4. Serve with potato salad. Enjoy!
