So, all you need is a few simple and easy to find ingredients; maple-flavored sausage, butter, all-purpose flour, whole milk, and of course salt and pepper to taste. All you have to do is mix and cook. Easy peasy right? It is so good you’ll never go back to your old gravy. It’s made with sausage drippings so beware! This is too good, you might forget your name! Your biscuits drench in sausage gravy is the next level! Generously pour it over your biscuits for a savory, delicious meal. I promise you’ll gonna love this creamy sausage gravy.

INGREDIENTS

1 (12 ounces) package maple-flavored sausage
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
salt and pepper to taste

How to make Bill’s Sausage Gravy Is the Best Gravy for Biscuits You Can Make

Step 1: In a large and deep skillet, place the sausage and cook over medium-high heat until fairly brown.

Step 2: Once done, use a slotted spoon to remove the sausage and leave the drippings in the pan.

Step 3: Place the butter in the same pan and melt.

Step 4: Once the butter is melted, add in the flour and stir until smooth.

Step 5: Decrease the heat to medium and continue cooking until the flour is light brown.

Step 6: Then, slowly whisk in the milk. Cook until the milk thickened.

Step 7: Then, season with salt and pepper. And put the cooked sausage back in the pan.

Step 8: Again reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 12 to 15 minutes.

Step 9: You can stir in more milk if the gravy becomes too thick or until you achieve your desired consistency.
