INGREDIENTS

8 pounds bone-in spiral-sliced half ham
2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon paprika
pinch of allspice

HOW TO MAKE COPYCAT HONEY BAKED HAM

Step 1: If needed, cut the ham before placing it in the slow cooker.

Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and honey. Massage this over the ham.

Step 3: Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on low, covered.

Step 4: Preheat the broiler to high.

Step 5: Using heavy-duty aluminium foil, line a roasting pan.

Step 6: In a small bowl, combine the sugar, seasoned salt, onion powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground cloves, paprika, and allspice. Over the ham, pat half of the sugar mixture.

Step 7: Broil for a few minutes or until bubbly and caramelized.

Step 8: Add the rest of the sugar mixture into a small saucepan, then, add 3 tbsp water or ham juice (from the slow cooker). A nice alternative could be the combination of water/ham juice plus bourbon. Stir well and boil for approximately 1 minute.

Step 9: Brush the ham with the glaze or just pour the glaze over the ham.

Step 10: Broil for another minute or two. Be careful not to burn it.

Step 11: When done, allow the ham to rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes and serve (either warm or cold).

To Cook in Oven:

1. Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 275 degrees F and position the oven rack to the lower third section.

2. use a long strip of foil to line a roasting pan or a large dutch oven.

3. Place the ham in the centre of the prepared pan flat side down.

4. Brush the ham with the honey and butter mixture.

5. Loosely cover simply by bringing the sides of the foil up over the top.

6. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 12 to 15 minutes per pound. (8-pound ham will bake about 1 hr 30 to 40 minutes).

7. Proceed to step 4 as mentioned.
