Ever find yourself craving for Cracker Barrel’s hashbrowns casserole peak of the night? I do! And my husband is annoyed every time. He’s funny though because he usually takes home hashbrowns casserole from Cracker Barrel, says in case I crave again. This is the exact reason why I learned how to make a copy cat of Cracker Barrel’s hashbrowns casserole. I thought it’ll be difficult but I was so wrong! It’s easy to put together, and the ingredients are easy to find, no need for ingredients we can’t pronounce. The result is a creamy, cheesy, satisfying meal like the real thing. What’s great is you can make this ahead, and just pop in the oven when you’re ready to eat or for a comfort food fix. It’s an effortless recipe, versatile – anything and everything goes well! Try adding some chunked ham or crumbled bacon and it’s amazing! The outside of this hashbrown casserole is a delightful golden brown with a fluffy, and delicious interior. Indeed an undeniably satisfying meal that the whole family loves!

2 lbs frozen hash browns
1⁄2 cup of margarine or 1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (10 1/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1-pint sour cream
1⁄2 cup of onion, peeled and chopped
2 cups of cheddar cheese, grated
1 teaspoon of salt
1⁄4 teaspoon of pepper

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.

Step 2: With a cooking spray, grease or spray an 11 x 4-inch baking dish.

Step 3: In a large bowl, mix the hash browns, margarine or butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, onion, cheddar cheese. Add in pepper and salt to taste. Mix until the ingredients are incorporated.

Step 4: Pour the mixture into the greased pan.

Step 5: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the top is browned. Once done, remove from the oven and serve. Enjoy!
