Cream Cheese Apple Coffee Cake

I love sweets and treats. I enjoy baking, and I have my favourite recipes. One of them is this Cream Cheese Apple Coffee Cake. Moist, delicious, and perfect to serve for brunch or an after-meal dessert. If you are hesitant about coffee cakes, this will surely change your mind!



1 Egg
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, softened
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. chopped apples (chopped small)
1/2 tbsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Layer:

3 tbsp white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
8 ounces softened cream cheese


6 tbsp cold butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp salt

How to make Cream Cheese Apple Coffee Cake

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8 x 8-inch square pan.

Step 2: For the cake, mix the butter and sugars until fluffy. Now, add the egg, oil, and vanilla. Mix well until blended.

Step 3: Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well mixed. Add this into the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Then, fold in the chopped apples.

Step 4: Into the prepared pan, pour the batter and spread evenly.

Step 5: To make the cream cheese layer, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until well blended. Spread this on top of the batter.

Step 6: Using your hands or pastry blender, mix the streusel ingredients (cold butter, cinnamon, flour, baking powder, white sugar, brown sugar, and salt) until well blended. Sprinkle this on top of the cream cheese mixture layer.

Step 7: Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until the topping turned brown.
