Filled with chicken and cream cheese mixture these cheesy tacos or taquitos are as great as ever! The perfect appetizer or as a main dish, these sure will leave everyone asking for more!
These cream cheese chicken tacos were a great hit during our last Taco Tuesday. The kids never turned their backs until it’s all gone so I needed to make another batch so everyone can taste it. In an instant, we made a star and these incredible tacos hit the top spot!
Delicious, easy to make cream cheese chicken tacos that take only a thunder to make! I can’t ask for anything more!
Ingredients
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese
2 clove garlic, minced
2 c deli rotisserie chicken or leftover roast/baked chicken shredded
1 bunch green onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
10 medium corn tortillas
canola oil for frying
HOW TO MAKE CREAM CHEESE CHICKEN TACOS
Step 1: Ready the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees F.
Step 2: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 3: Fry 1 tortilla at a time until light brown. Do this for the remaining tortillas.
Step 4: Transfer the fried tortillas on a plate lined with paper towels.
Step 5: Melt the cream cheese in a saucepan over low heat.
Step 6: Add the shredded chicken, green onion, garlic, and Cheddar cheese into the skillet.
Step 7: Remove from the heat and stir well.
Step 8: Add spoonfuls of the chicken mixture on each tortilla and place them in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 10: Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 2 minutes at room temperature.
