INGREDIENTS

1/2 pound pork sausage, casings removed
1 tablespoon butter
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
1/4 cup minced fresh sage leaves
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley leaves
2 tubes Crescent Rolls
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 Egg, lightly whisked

How to make Crescent Roll Stuffing

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F.

Step 2: In a large nonstick skillet, cook the sausage until brown. Crumble up the meat as it cooks. Once done, drain excess grease and wipe clean the skillet.

Step 3: Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery, then stir in the fresh herbs. Place the sausage back into the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat to allow the mixture to cool for a bit.

Step 4: In the meantime, divide the crescent roll triangles into thirds and roll individually. Place into a bowl.

Step 5: Combine the crescent roll balls with the sausage mixture, egg, and chicken stock in a large bowl. Transfer to a medium casserole dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes to an hour until golden brown and the dough is cooked through. Cover the dish with foil if the top is browning too quickly.
