Honey-Sriracha Turkey Meatballs Recipe

The star of every meal! Turkey meatballs coated in spicy sriracha and honey are the perfect appetizer on game days. Fun meatball recipe that’s big in flavour!

Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil
1 celery stalk chopped
1 small onion chopped
1 jalapeno pepper chopped
3 cloves garlic chopped
1 tbsp Cajun seasonings
2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
1 tbsp spicy chilli flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Egg beaten
1 lb ground turkey you can use beef, chicken, or pork as well
1 c panko or more as needed
Fresh chopped herbs and spicy chilli flakes for garnish

HONEY-SRIRACHA GLAZE:

1 c sriracha
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chilli flakes
Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Honey-Sriracha Turkey Meatballs

Step 1: Heat a tbsp olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2: Once hot, add and cook the celery, onion, and peppers for about 5 minutes until soft.

Step 3: Stir in the garlic and cook for a minute more.

Step 4: Transfer the contents to a mixing bowl and cool for a bit.

Step 5: Add in the Cajun seasonings, parsley, chilli flakes, egg, ground turkey, and panko and season with salt and pepper.

Step 6: Mix the meat mixture using your hands until just combined.

Step 7: Make the meat mixture in an inch turkey meatballs (16 meatballs).

Step 8: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.

Step 9: Add the rest of the olive oil in the same pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown for about 3 to 4 minutes. Roll the meatballs a bit to brown evenly over medium heat.

Step 10: Place the pan inside the preheated oven. Bake the meatballs for approximately 10 minutes or until cooked through.

Step 11: Meanwhile, whisk the sriracha, honey, garlic powder, chilli flakes, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Gently heat, stirring until incorporated.

Step 12: Pour the honey and sriracha sauce over the meatballs or brush this on the turkey meatballs.

Step 13: Garnish with chilli flakes and fresh parsley before serving.

Notes:

1. If you want more heat, feel free to add hotter peppers into the turkey meatball mixture or more spicy chilli flakes and seasonings.

2. Before baking the turkey meatballs, you can transfer them to a lightly oiled or lined with parchment paper rimmed baking sheet. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees F.

3. The meatballs are done when the internal temperature reached 165 degrees F.

4. Use less honey or skip it entirely if you want this to be a keto turkey meatballs.
