Add cubed ham or Kielbasa, and you have a full meal that your whole family will surely love and enjoy!

Ingredients

1 tbsp kosher salt
4 c sliced cabbage
1 c sliced onions
4 tbsp butter, canola oil or bacon fat
2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3 c cooked noodles
sour cream for serving

How to make Hungarian Cabbage and Noodles

Step 1: Add the sliced cabbage and salt in a large mixing bowl. Squeeze with your hands and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Melt the butter in a deep skillet over medium heat.

Step 3: Saute the onions, cabbage, pepper, and sugar.

Step 4: Adjust the heat to low and continue to simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the cabbage is brown.

Step 5: Add the cooked noodles into the pan and toss to coat.

Step 6: Once done, remove the pan from the heat and serve with cheesecloth drained sour cream.

Note:

For a complete meal, add cubed ham or Kielbasa when frying the cabbage.
