I can’t imagine finding another best tasting French Onion Soup because I found it a long time ago. I savour every sip of this pleasing cloud of deliciousness. Better than anything I’ve tried before. All the exciting flavours burst in your mouth in every sup.

Ingredients

¼ cup butter, melted
1 large sweet onion (such as Vidalia®), cut into thin slivers
1 small red onion, cut into thin slivers
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups beef stock
3 tablespoons brandy
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 cups Italian-style seasoned croutons
3 slices provolone cheese

How to make Slow Cooker French Onion Soup

Step 1: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add and stir the sweet onion and red onion. Cook for about 10 minutes or until softened before stirring in the garlic. Continue to cook for about 2 minutes or until fragrant. Place this into the slow cooker.

Step 2: Pour in the beef stock, brandy, soy sauce followed by the Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and black pepper.

Step 3: Set on high and cook for about 4 to 5 hours.

Step 4: When almost ready, position the oven rack around 6 inches from the heat source before preheating the oven’s broiler.

Step 5: Grab 3 oven-proof bowls and ladle the soup into each bowl. Top each with croutons and a slice of Provolone.

Step 6: Place in the preheated oven and broil for about 3 minutes or until the cheese melts and starts to brown.
