Have a satisfying dinner tonight with these simple yet super delicious Meatballs and Gravy with Onions. Perfect with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, your family will surely enjoy and love every bite!
Ingredients
1 pound Ground Beef
¼ c Breadcrumbs
1 Large Egg
2 Tbsp Whole Milk
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
4 Vidalia Onions – peeled, sliced
2 Tbsp Butter
4 Tbsp Flour
1 c Beef Broth
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 c Water
Salt/Pepper
How to make Meatballs and Gravy with Onions
Step 1: In a large bowl, place the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Combine until just mixed, then roll into 15 meatballs.
Step 2: In a large pan with high sides, drizzle oil and heat over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs (don’t overcrowd) and cook until both sides are brown. When done, transfer to a plate and set aside.
Step 3: Into the pan, add the sliced Vidalia Onions with the rest of the meatball grease. Saute the onions for about 5 to 10 minutes until soft.
Step 4: Add butter to the pan. Sprinkle in the flour a tbsp at a time, whisking every after each addition.
Step 5: Gradually pour the broth into the pan, followed by Worcestershire sauce and water. Stirring every addition. Simmer, then adjust the heat to medium-low.
Step 6: Add the meatballs back to the pan and continue to cook for 10 to 15 minutes more until the gravy is thick and the meatballs are cooked through. If needed, add extra water.
Step 7: To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 8: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
