This may be a pretty simple and straightforward salad but it’s no doubt amazing! Packed with onion, egg, cheese, and celery with a creamy dressing – each bite is crispy with a little crunch and a pure delight!
Time passed so quickly and there are trillions of recipes to try. Some are easy and quick, the rest are a tad difficult that requires effort and time. Nevertheless, most of these recipes produce a delicious, and superb result. I have a bunch of favourites and one of them is this Pea Salad recipe. Not only that this is incredibly easy to whip up with just simple ingredients but it’s incredible! A nice rotation to my other favourites, very light, and versatile. They say it is a grown-up salad but to my surprise my kids just adore it! I often add ham slices, crumbled crispy bacon, or diced chicken or turkey to it. Like what I mentioned, this recipe is super versatile. You can skip the additions and just stick to the recipe but don’t be afraid to experiment. Have fun with this tasty salad!
Ingredients
3 c. frozen green peas thawed but cold
4 hard-boiled eggs
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. thinly sliced red onion
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
2/3 c. mayonnaise
1/3 c. sour cream
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
How to make Pea Salad
Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, place the peas, eggs, red onion, and celery. Toss to combine.
Step 2: Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, and mustard in another bowl until well mixed.
Step 3: Over the peas, drizzle the mayonnaise mixture, and very carefully stir to combine. To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Place in the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes. This way the flavour comes together. Then, serve and enjoy!
