1 (8 ounces) package linguini pasta
2 tablespoons butter
½ pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
½ cup butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (3 ounces) package cream cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
¾ teaspoon dried basil
⅔ cup boiling water
½ pound cooked shrimp
HOW TO MAKE SHRIMP AND MUSHROOM LINGUINI WITH CREAMY CHEESE HERB SAUCE
Step 1: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add and cook the linguini for about 7 minutes or until al dente. Once done, drain and rinse in cold water.
Step 2: Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the mushrooms and cook until tender. Transfer on a clean plate.
Step 3: Add 2 cup butter in the same skillet and melt. Saute the minced garlic until aromatic. Stir in the cream cheese until melted before adding in the basil and parsley. Allow simmering for about 5 minutes or until smooth.
Step 4: Add back the cooked mushrooms and shrimp into the pan and let it heat through.
Step 5: Add and toss the linguini until thoroughly coated with the sauce.
