The Best Bread Pudding

With this simple recipe, I hit two birds in one stone. This bread pudding is one of the best I’ve made so far. Perfect for breakfast or dessert filled with cinnamon and nutmeg.

I have tried different pudding recipes. I and my mom loves all kinds of pudding. We take pride in every pudding recipe we made. And this bread pudding is one of our top favourites. Made with only pantry ingredients, this comes out amazing always!

This bread pudding is a classic dessert that you anyone can whip up in a breeze. Do not get me wrong, it says classic dessert, but this is fantastic to serve for breakfast, too! It’s one of the most requested and the star of our every brunch!

Ingredients

1 16-ounces loaf French bread
5 Eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Sauce:

1 c. heavy cream
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 c. sugar
4 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

How to make The Best Bread Pudding

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. And using nonstick cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Into 1 to 2-inch squares, cut the bread. Place the pieces in a large bowl.

Step 3: Add the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg to a different bowl. Whisk until combined. Pour this over the bread, then gently stir to coat. Allow the pieces of bread to soak for approximately 20 minutes.

Step 4: Into the prepared baking dish, spread the pieces of bread. Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 50 to 60 minutes until the middle is set.

Step 5: Place the sugar, flour, and heavy cream in a saucepan. Whisk until mixed. Add the butter and cook over medium heat until the butter has melted and the liquid begins to boil. Stir until the mixture has slightly thickened. Take from the heat when done and whisk in the vanilla.
