INGREDIENTS

2 racks baby back ribs or pork spare ribs
2 c. barbecue sauce

Dry Rub:

1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground mustard

How to make Crockpot Ribs (Slow Cooker)

Step 1: From the back of the ribs, remove the membrane by sliding your fingers around the side to loosen it, then ripping it right off.

Step 2: Whisk the dry rub ingredients (smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and ground mustard) in a small bowl. Over the outside of the ribs, generously rub the mixture.

Step 3: In the crockpot, put the ribs and drizzle with 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce, keeping the other half cup aside for later. Set on low and cook for 8 to 10 hours. Note that the more racks in the pot, the longer the cooking time.

Step 4: When done, lay the racks out on a foil-lined baking sheet and pour the reserved barbecue sauce over. Place in the broiler and broil for about 3 to 5 minutes until the barbecue sauce begins to bubble and be caramelized. Or wrap the racks in foil and grill to get the same effect.

NOTE:

To caramelized the racks more, you can also throw them on the grill instead of broiling, Place the racks straight on the grill or wrap them first in a piece of aluminium foil. Brush the racks with extra barbecue sauce before closing the grill door and grill on high heat (500 degrees) for about 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce begins to bubble and caramelize.
