I cannot count how many times I made this Garlic Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein. It’s always a hit and my family is crazy over the sticky and sweet sauce that coats the beef and broccoli. Perfect on busy days especially now that the kids are back in school.

Ingredients

8 oz. lo mein noodles or spaghetti noodles
3 c. broccoli florets
1 tbsp olive oil
8 oz. flank steak sliced against the grain
3 garlic cloves minced
1 medium carrot shredded
¼ c. packed brown sugar
¼ c. reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
¼ tsp pepper

HOW TO MAKE 20 MINUTE GARLIC BEEF AND BROCCOLI LO MEIN

Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the noodles in a large pot of boiling water. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli and cook until tender. When done, drain the noodles and broccoli.

Step 2: Across the grain, cut the flank steak in 1/4 inch strips.

Step 3: In the meantime, heat the olive oil in a medium-sized skillet. Add the steak to the heated oil and cook until no longer pink. Add the garlic and carrots and continue to cook for another minute.

Step 4: Place the brown sugar soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until well combined.

Step 5: To the skillet, add the spaghetti. Pour the sauce over and toss until spaghetti is coated.
