PREP TIME: 10 MINS | TOTAL TIME: 1 HR | YIELDS: 16
I love egg and cheese sandwiches, but I adore these delicious Breakfast Pinwheels more! You can easily make these pinwheels using only simple ingredients and serve this right away for breakfast or brunch alongside your favourite fruits.
My first attempt to make these pinwheels was a blast, so I am making this again tomorrow. My colleagues would like to have brunch at my house, and I want to serve them something better. And these pinwheels are the first thing that came to my mind.
INGREDIENTS
5 large eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon chopped chives, plus more for garnish
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 (8-ounces) tube crescent roll dough
2 cups shredded Cheddar
1/2 pound deli-sliced ham
How to make Breakfast Pinwheels
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. And using a cooking spray, grease an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
Step 2: Combine the eggs with chives and season with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
Step 3: Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Once the butter has melted and foamy, add the eggs to the skillet and cook until slightly set. Adjust the heat to medium-low. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, drag the eggs to create curds. Season the eggs with salt and pepper once they are almost cooked, then remove from the heat.
Step 4: Unroll the dough on a lightly floured surface. Into rectangles, separate the sheet, then pinch the perforations to seal. To each rectangle, add a layer of shredded cheese and egg. In an even layer, add the ham on top. Roll each rectangle beginning with one short side. To seal, pinch the edges, then slice each roll into 4 and put them in the baking pan cut side-up.
Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake the rolls for about 25 to 30 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven when done, and serve garnished with chives. Enjoy!
