Do you want a fresh-baked pita? Well, this recipe will teach you how to make it in the comfort of your home! You will be amazed by how easy it is to make the best pita ever. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp (14 g) olive oil, plus more for drizzling
2 c (256 g) all-purpose flour, plus more for sprinkling
1 tsp (5 g) kosher salt
165 g (scant 3/4 cup) lukewarm water
1 tsp (4 g) instant yeast

Directions:

Add salt, instant yeast, and flour into a large mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well combined.

Stir in oil and water until well blended. Use your clean hands to knead the mixture until it forms a sticky dough.

Add a bit of olive oil, then flip the dough and cover it with a damp towel. Let it sit in a warm area to rise for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Prepare the oven and turn the heat to about 550 degrees F. Put the baking steel in it.

Make 6 square cuts out of the parchment paper.

Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface, then lay the dough on it. Knead it a few times until it forms a ball. Slice it into 6 cuts and allow them to rise for half an hour.

Use your hands to flatten each dough and roll it to about a 6-inch circle.

Place them individually over the prepared sheets. Let them rise for additional 15 minutes.

Bake for 2 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Remove from the oven.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

Place leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge or freezer. They can last up to 3 months if frozen.

Reheat in the oven for a few minutes.
