APPLE PIE FILLING COFFEE CAKE

A dense, flavorful dessert that is perfect for fall. This apple pie filling coffee cake is made of apple pie filling and delightful cinnamon spice streusel. A real treat for all who loves coffee so much, myself included.

Made from a scratch soft layer of cake that has the perfect balance of sweet and spices. And the streusel topping beautifully creates a contrast to the whole cake. If you are a big fan of coffee and fruit-based dessert, I am pretty sure you’ll fall hard for this decadent cake.

Ingredients

CAKE:

1 pkg (2 layers) white cake mix
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c sour cream
3 Eggs
1/4 c water
1 (21oz) can(s)apple pie filling

GLAZE:

1 c confectioners’ sugar
1/2 tbsp milk

HOW TO MAKE APPLE PIE FILLING COFFEE CAKE

Step 1: Ready the oven. Preheat it to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Use cooking spray to grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan and sprinkle with flour.

Step 3: Add the cake mix, cinnamon, sour cream, and eggs in a medium mixing bowl. Beat until incorporated. Transfer this to the prepared baking pan.

Step 4: Over the batter, place spoonfuls of pie filling.

Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.

Step 6: Once done, remove from the oven and onto a wire rack. Let the cake cool at room temperature.

Step 7: For the glaze, combine the milk and sugar in a small mixing bowl until well mixed.

Step 6: Generously spread the frosting over the cooled cake.

Notes:

1. If the glaze is too thick add teaspoonfuls of milk until you reached your desired consistency.

2. For the filling, you can use either apple, strawberry, blueberry, or any flavour of your choice.
