INGREDIENTS

1 cup sour cream
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and finely chopped
1 cup nuts (walnut or pecan or a combo), divided

For the praline sauce

¼ cup brown sugar and ¼ cup butter

How to make Apple Praline Bread

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan lightly and set aside. For perfect cooking, you can use a stoneware loaf pan, if desired.

Step 3: Beat the sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla with an electric mixer over low speed until well combined. After a few minutes of beating, stop and add in the flour, leavening agents, and salt. Again beat on low until incorporated.

Step 4: Fold in half of the nut and apples into the batter.

Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Step 6: Sprinkle the remaining nuts over the batter and lightly press the nuts.

Step 7: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for approximately 60 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Step 8: Once done, remove from the oven but don’t remove the bread from the pan just yet. Let the bread cool in the pan for 20 to 30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to completely cool.

To make the praline sauce

Step 1: Place the butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2:  Reduce the heat and lightly simmer for a minute while stirring constantly until the sauce is thick.

Step 3: Then, remove the saucepan from the heat and drizzle the praline sauce over the cooled bread.
