BEST HOMEMADE LEMON BREAD

I have been on the hunt for the best lemon bread recipe. I have tried countless times and failed. Yet, this homemade lemon bread recipe that I recently stumbled upon is the perfect recipe I have been looking for. With precise consistency and incredible lemon flavor, this bread is worth everything! And the sweet lemon glaze makes this lemon bread the best there is.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon grated lemon peel zest from 1 lemon
4 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice (I used 1 medium lemon) 22 ml
2 1/4 cups flour 270 grams
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 7 1/2 grams
3/4 teaspoon salt 4 grams
1 1/4 cups + 2 tablespoons sugar 276 grams
3/4 cup butter softened 170 grams
3 eggs (large)
3/4 cup milk I used 2%) 177 ml

HOW TO MAKE BEST HOMEMADE LEMON BREAD

Step 1: Prepare the oven, Preheat it to 350 degrees, or 180 degrees celsius.

Step 2: And grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

Step 3: Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 1/4 cups of sugar in a large bowl. Add in the softened butter. Using a pastry blender, blend the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Then, stir in the lemon peel.

Step 4: Lightly beat the eggs in a small bowl using a fork. Add in the milk and blend until well combined. Mix this egg and milk mixture into the flour mixture and combine until the flour is moistened.

Step 5: Add the batter in the prepared greased loaf pan. Place inside the preheated oven and bake for an hour to an hour and 1/4 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the middle and once it comes out clean then it is done. Remove from the oven and let it cool to a wire rack.

Step 6: Place the 4 1/2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring the mixture constantly until thickened. Once thickened, brush the syrup over the top of the bread using a pastry brush. Serve and enjoy!
