½ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon Apple Pie Spice
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1½ cups peeled, chopped apples
Oil for frying
Confectioners sugar

How to make Big Apple Fritters

Step 1: Pour a depth of about 3 inches of oil into a deep skillet or Dutch oven. Heat it to 375 degrees.

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour, sugar, salt, and Apple Pie Spice.

Step 3: Lightly beat the eggs into a separate bowl. And mix in the milk and vanilla.

Step 4: Create a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk mixture.

Step 5: Add in the butter and use a mixer on low speed to beat the ingredients for about half a minute to moisten.

Step 6: Now scrape down the sides of the bowl, then adjust the speed of the mixer to medium and beat for another 2 minutes.

Step 7: Fold in the apples.

Step 8: Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop the mixture and drop it into the hot oil. The fritters will rise to the top as it cooks, so if your pot is not large enough you may be able to cook one fritter at a time.

Step 9: Cook the side until brown and flip to cook the other side. Use a spatula to flip the fritters.

Step 10: Once done, remove the fritters from the pan and transfer to paper towels to drain. Immediately sprinkle the fritters with confectioner’s sugar or glaze.

Step 11: To make the glaze, whisk the confectioner’s sugar and milk or water. Glaze the fritters while still warm. Enjoy!
