Sweet, tender, cinnamon-coated caramelized apples is a dream come true. Smells heavenly when baking, it makes my mouth water. The perfect fall dish and a deliciously quick apple dessert or side that your whole family will love and enjoy! I savour every bit and always ask for more. Surprisingly easy to make made with fresh apples and a few pantry ingredients. The ingredients come together perfectly to give you a naturally sweet and humble treat.

1 teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 large apples – peeled, cored, and sliced
3 ½ tablespoons water

Step 1: Ready the oven by preheating it to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Grab a large baking dish and grease with butter.

Step 3: Combine the nutmeg, vanilla sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small mixing bowl until incorporated.

Step 4: At the bottom of the prepared baking dish, arrange 1/3 of the apples and sprinkle over around 1/3 of the sugar mixture.

Step 5: Do the same steps until you arranged two more layers.

Step 6: Put in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until a bit brown.

Step 7: Add in the water and continue to cook for 15 minutes more or until the apples are soft and tender.

Step 8: Once done, take the baked cinnamon apples out of the oven and onto a wire rack. Allow cooling at room temperature before serving. Enjoy!
