INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground pork
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 (16 oz.) bag coleslaw mix with carrots
2 green onions, chopped diagonally
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Rice, cooked, garnish, optional
How to make Egg Roll In A Bowl
Step 1: Whisk the soy sauce and hoisin sauce in a small bowl. Set it aside.
Step 2: Cook the ground pork in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Once done, drain any accumulated fats.
Step 3: Season the cooked ground pork with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir in the sesame oil.
Step 4: Then, add in the onion and garlic. Continue cooking for 6 to 8 minutes more or until the onions are softened.
Step 5: Next, pour in the soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Stir in the coleslaw and carrots and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes or until the cabbage is just wilted.
Step 6: Adjust the seasoning according to taste.
Step 7: Once done, remove the skillet or pan from the heat. Transfer the Egg roll in a serving bowl and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped onions before serving. Great with rice. Enjoy!
