Crisp, dainty, buttery, and delicious Oatmeal Lace Cookies – seriously addicting and extraordinary! Might not look like your regular cookies but these taste better than any store-bought treats. Super thin like a lace, outrageously crispy, super buttery, and grand! The taste reminds me more of sweet brown butter and caramel. My kids favourite and their friends most requested. I have been obsessed with these pretties a long time and I plan on keeping them forever! Made with a few simple pantry ingredients, these very thin cookies only take less than 20 minutes to make. We love to sandwich them with a small amount of chocolate for a decadent treat that never fails to impress the crowd.

Ingredients

½ cup butter
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup quick-cooking oats (such as Quaker™)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder

How to make Grandma’s Lace Cookies

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.

Step 2: Use an aluminium foil to line a baking sheet.

Step 3: Melt the butter in a microwave. Once melted, stir in the sugar until incorporated before adding in the beaten egg. Mix well.

Step 4: Add in the oats, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and baking powder. Mix until combined.

Step 5: On the prepared baking sheet, place teaspoonfuls of the batter.

Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Step 7: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet.
