How to make Grown-Up Tuna Noodle Casserole

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees.

Step 2: Start slicing the mushrooms, then dice the onions. Using cooking spray, lightly grease a baking dish.

Step 3: Following the package directions, cook the pasta until al dente.

Step 4: In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Then, add the onions and mushrooms to the hot pan and saute until the onions are translucent.

Step 5: To the pan, add the mushroom soup, cream cheese, sour cream, milk, and garlic powder. Cook further and season with salt & pepper.

Step 6: Add the drained pasta to the pan and toss well. Next, add the drained tuna or cooked chicken. Stir well.

Step 7: To the prepared baking dish, transfer the mixture and top it with shredded cheese. Lastly, sprinkle the french fried onions over.

Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until the onions are golden brown. Remove from the oven when done and serve the casserole hot. Enjoy!

If planning to freeze, stop just before adding the onions and freeze the casserole. Thaw the casserole completely before baking. Top with onions and bake as instructed.
