Ingredients

½ cup butter
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounces) package frozen chopped broccoli
4 (14.5 ounces) can chicken broth
1 (1 pound) loaf processed cheese food, cubed
2 cups of milk
1 tablespoon garlic powder
⅔ cup cornstarch
1 cup of water

How to make Kid-Friendly Broccoli Cheese Soup

Step 1: Melt the butter in a large stockpot over medium heat.

Step 2: Once melted, saute the onion until translucent. Add in and stir the broccoli.

Step 3: Pour the chicken broth into the pot and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the broccoli is tender.

Step 4: Adjust the heat to low before adding in the cheese (slice into small cubes).

Step 5: Add in the milk and sprinkle over the garlic powder.

Step 6: Mix the cornstarch and water in a small mixing bowl until the cornstarch has dissolved. Add this to the soup and stir until thick.

Step 7: Serve immediately. Enjoy!
