These cookies have a chewy edge and are gooey in the middle. With caramel bits and sea salt, this treat hit every spot! Everyone’s favorite flavor, my favorite in one amazingly tasty treat that is baked in perfection. Bring these into potlucks, or serve it when you have guests I am sure everyone will go gaga over these cookies. Little do they know this is just a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe with caramel and sprinkle of sea salt. Amazing, right? This recipe is to keep and these cookies are worth everything! They are to die for!
INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
18 unwrapped caramel candies (such as Werther’s(R)), each cut into 6 pieces
How to make Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
Step 1: Ready the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Step 2: In a bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt.
step 3: With an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, and white sugar. Add in the eggs one at a time and beat in each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Combine the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Mix until the dough is just combined. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 5: Separate the dough into thirty-six two tablespoon-sized balls. Place the dough balls onto the baking sheet and press 3 pieces of caramel into each dough.
Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Once done, remove the cookies from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
