This is the perfect meal for busy people like you and me! This is my favorite dish to cook pretty much every day. I can prepare dinner and do my work at the same time. It doesn’t get any better than that! If you are not eating right away, I suggest you let it sit on the slow cooker for additional hours so it would somehow be marinated. It would be more delicious and awesome! Give this one a try today. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
3 lb beef roast
3 lb pork roast
1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into chunks (or use baby carrots)
4 stalks celery, cut into chunks
4 potatoes, washed, cut into chunks (peel if you wish)
8 oz fresh mushrooms (I used Baby Bellas)
3 medium onions, peeled, cut into chunks
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 pkg brown gravy mix
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
salt
pepper
How to make Slow Cooker Pork and Beef Roast
Step 1: Place a frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high then add in the butter and olive oil. Allow the butter to melt.
Step 2: Cut the roasts to four chunks and season with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Add in the chunks into the frying pan and cook until the color turns brown on all sides.
Step 4: Prepare the slow cooker and add in the vegetables. Place the cooked meat over the vegetables. Do not add water because the meat and vegetables have enough water.
Step 5: Turn the heat to high and cook for 4 to 6 hours or until the meat is tender.
Step 6: Transfer the mixture into a bowl ora platter.
Step 7: Place a medium saucepan in and add in the brown gravy and soup mix. Pour the leftover juice from the slow cooker. Turn the heat to medium and bring to a boil. Stir from time to time.
Step 8: Turn the heat to low and simmer for 1 minute.
Step 9: Put the veggies and meat back to the slow cooker and spread the gravy on top.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
