A fun breakfast that’s perfect for all ages! This delicious and filling casserole is made with sausage, cheddar cheese, tater tots, eggs, milk, garlic, onion, and black pepper. Easy to throw together, you can even make this ahead!
This is not only excellent to serve for breakfast, but this is incredible for lunch and dinner, too! This dish tastes insanely good, one of the many reasons why everyone loves this tasty breakfast casserole.
Ingredients
2 pounds hot breakfast sausage
1 (30-32 ounces) bag frozen tater tots
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1-1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c mozzarella cheese
8 Eggs
2 c milk
HOW TO MAKE TATER TOT SAUSAGE BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Use cooking spray to grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Step 3: Cook the sausage in a large skillet until no longer pink. When done, drain excess grease.
Step 4: Place the tater tots, cooked sausage, and cheeses in a large bowl. Toss to combine.
Step 5: Transfer the tater tot mixture into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Step 6: Combine the eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and milk. Pour this on top of the tater tot mixture.
Step 7: If baking later, cover and store in the fridge. Alternately, bake for about 60 to 10 minutes, uncover, or until the eggs are set.
Notes:
1. Add several minutes to the cooking time if refrigerated or frozen.
2. Completely thaw first before baking as instructed above.
3. After freezing, completely thaw before reheating for about 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees F. Note to cover the casserole with aluminium foil when reheating.
