I am so excited to share this recipe with you today because I know that you are going to like it! This Tater Tot Sausage Breakfast Casserole has been a part of my family forever! Made with simple ingredients, you will be glad that you gave this recipe a try. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1-1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon pepper
8 Eggs
1/2 c mozzarella cheese
2 c milk
2 pounds of hot breakfast sausage
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 (30-32 ounces) bag of frozen tater tots
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat it to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray to a 9×13-inch baking pan. Make sure to coat the inside well.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add the sausage, then cook for a few minutes or until crumbly and brown.
Remove any fat that surfaces and move the sausage into a bowl.
Add the cheese and tater tots into the bowl with the sausage. Stir everything until well combined. Make sure to melt the cheese completely. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
In a mixing bowl, add milk, garlic powder, pepper, eggs, and salt. Whisk everything until well incorporated.
Add the mixture over the tots’ mixture and spread it evenly to cover the entire top.
Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake the casserole for about an hour.
Remove from the oven and allow it cool for a few minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to make the casserole the night before. Make sure to let it cool completely before freezing. Thaw before baking.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then put them in the fridge. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
