Thick & Chewy M & M Cookie Bars!

by 247tasty

These are so good! Thick and chewy cookie bars that are literally made with M & M’s. Or if you love nuts as I do, this can be made with nuts, too! Either way, these are delicious!

Christmas is fast approaching and I am almost at the end of my long list for the Holidays. I plan on remaking these bars with just red and green, maybe a little yellow M & M’s. My kids love Christmas and who doesn’t? The reason why I am only using Christmas tone so they will feel the spirit of Christmas despite all the things happening around the globe.

These bars are the perfect treat for every occasion. Just pick the right M & M’s colour to decorate accordingly.

Ingredients

1/2 c softened salted butter
1 c granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c peanut butter
1 c all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c red and green M&M’s

How to make M & M Cookie Bars

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Use aluminium foil to line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan and non-stick cooking spray to grease.

Step 3: Add the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until well mixed. Add in the flour and continue mixing until a thick dough forms.

Step 4: Then, fold in a cup of M&Ms.

Step 5: In the prepared baking pan, press the cookie dough and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.

Step 6: Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Step 7: To remove the bars from the pan, lift up the aluminium foil and cut into nine individual squares. Then, slowly and carefully slice the sides.
